Term 2 Week 5 Homework
This week, we will begin our work on creating some games using technology. We will learn some skills at school that you will need to use to complete your homework. You will also use tutorials in Scratch to create a basic game.
First of all we will look at how to create a board game in Google Sheets. You can use the Google Sheet in which you created your virtual die. By Friday, you will need to have the board created, your counters created and the objects on the game board. You will also need to have added it to the Science & Technology page of your portfolio with the correct sharing permissions to allow someone to play the game.
More on Scratch will come shortly.
As always, there is your class reflections that you need to work on also.

Term 2 Week 4 Homework
Some of you may not be aware of how to create a graph in Google Sheets on the iPad app. This is actually a very simple task. Below is a video tutorial of how it is done.
Term 3 homework will consist of creating a graph in Google Sheets to make up for the fact that the information to graph was left out last week. Reflections will again be part of this week's homework. Added to this is ensuring that your student portfolio is up-to-date with all work required posted. The fourth element for this week is to see how well you can follow instructions. Below is a video for creating a virtual die in Google Sheets. You need to follow the instructions in the video tutorial to create your own virtual die. We will be using this when we create an online game in Google Sheets. Finally, commenting on other student work is part of your homework. Please make sure to be positive and provide constructive feedback when commenting on the work of others.

Term 2 Week 3 Homework
In class we looked at how to create a graph using Google Sheets. This week for homework, I want you to graph the following information using Google Sheets. Once you have completed this, please add the Google Sheet to your portfolio. I would like this part of your homework to be added to the Mathematics section of the portfolio, not the Homework section.
I would like you to also complete a reflection of the week. What did you learn? What were some challenges that you faced and how did you overcome them? What was something that was fun that you did? This will need to be added to the Homework section of the portfolio.

Term 2 Homework
Term 2 homework is coming. However, as it has been a short week and Mrs Cooper was absent on Wednesday and Year 4 were on excursion Thursday, our homework will begin from next week.
Term 1 Week 6 - 11
For homework in Term 1, complete 3 activities per week from the following homework grid. Complete your homework using G Suite and add links to your work from the Homework page of your portfolio. Make sure that you share so that people are able to comment on your work.
You will also need to comment on at least one other person's homework, providing them with constructive feedback per week. You also need to create a Class Reflections document that you can add to each week that allows you to reflect on what you have learnt throughout the week.
Don't forget to also read each night and record what you have read so that you can receive your rewards as part of the school reading club.
If you are unable to see the grid below, here is a link that you can try that should allow you to access it. Click here for the grid. NOTE: For the links to work, you must change from editing to viewing.

Term 1 Week 2
1. Create your avatar and email it to me. To access the web site to create an avatar, click here.
2. As part of your portfolios, you are to create some learning goals. You need to think about what you would like to improve this year (be specific, don't just say "I want to improve my mathematics knowledge". Instead, be specific about your goal. For example: "I would like to learn how to accurately subtract when trading is needed"). Then you need to provide some ways that you might achieve your goal. You need to add this to your Goals page within your portfolio.
3. Create a mathematics problems Google Slide. On the first slide, create a mathematical world problem. For example, you may create a problem similar to the following:
- John has 16 stickers. He gives half to his friend James and 2 to his friend Jenny. How many stickers does John give away to his friends?
